
We always loves the chat recipes. But this dish DAHI VADA has special place in our heart. so let’s see recipe for all time favorite chat.
Ingredients :
- 250 gram urad dal
- 50 gram moong dal
- 2 /3 table spoon rice
- 2 /3 table spoon suji
- 500 gm curd
- cumin seed
- black pepper
- green chillies
- coriander
- red chilli powder
- chat masala
- sev (optional)
- sugar and salt according to taste
- baking soda
- oil for frying
Procedure :
- To make dahi vada first wash urad dal , moong dal, rice for two times and then soak them for 3 to 4 hours.
- After 4 hours drain the water from this mixture and grind them together to a fine paste. Take out that paste into a large bowl, further add sliced green chilies ,black pepper powder, coriander, cumin seed and salt.
- Add suji to the mixture. Add baking soda ,then using hand or spatula beat the batter for 5 minutes. beat the batter till it gets light and fluffy.
- To check consistency of batter take water in bowl and drop a spoon batter in that water. batter should float on to the top. if batter sinks to bottom then beat the batter for more 5 minutes.
- Now heat the oil in a pan, when oil becomes hot drop vada’s to oil and fry them until they get golden brown and crispy.
- then take some water in a bowl add fried vada’s to that bowl. vada’s should be warm when added to water.
- soak them for 30 to 40 minutes. Then we have to squeeze vada’s to remove excess of water.
- Take a curd add some sugar to curd and then beat it to get fine consistency.
- Then in a plate take vada’s ,cover vada’s with curd then sprinkle red chili powder , chat masala, and coriander.
- If you want then you can add sev to garnish dahi vada.
Tip : Drop a pinch of salt to oil while heating oil. that will help Vada’s to absorb less oil. U can also add green chutney and tamarind chutney to Dahi vada.
